The study of journalism, mass media and communications is increasingly relevant in our globalized, interconnected world. 


The mission of this 75-hour programme, offered by AIE, is to meet the needs of students preparing for careers in media policy, journalism, or associated professions, as global communications enters into a period of rapid and profound change.

A combination that is ideal if you want to become a knowledgeable media practitioner, this course lets you study various forms of media, old and new, as you train in the skills that journalists use to communicate through these media. 

We aim to help you become an ethical and reflective journalist, with significant knowledge of another subject.

Objectives

To provide students with:
  1. An understanding of the role of the different media in modern society;
  2. A thorough grounding in the role of the journalist;
  3. Knowledge of specific media roles and skills;
  4. Skills to research, write and present effective copy;
  5. Skills in presenting publications for the market place; and
  6. An awareness of the legal environment in which the media operate.
